No more respect!
Yesterday, while going home at 9h30pm from Marwan's, I crossed the street when I hear a car hooting (klaxonner en français) while double parking right in front of where I was walking. I was surprised so I thought that the driver wanted something so I looked taking at the driver who looked back, while taking off my headphone. I slowed down and since I realised that the person did not want anything I went on walking. I walk on hallf a dozen meter when I hear the drivier yelling in my back; I turn around and say:
-Do you want something from me!?!? (in a very aggressive tone)
-No, I thought YOU wanted something from me.
-You looked at me like you wanted something!
-Well you hoot while double parking right in front of me, I figured out you wanted to ask me something.
-I thought you wanted something!
I just turned around and left. Now who think the person in the car was a young thug or some kind of delinquent looking for trouble??? I personally did when thinking back.
WRONG! This very unpleasant person was a brunette lady with glassed in her mid 30's who looked perfectly sociable in her clean little black car. I can only think that this lady was looking for trouble and wished that I answered aggressively (she was hooting at another big german car with a man in it while double parking in front of it).
"Il n'y a plus de respect" in this french society, like Marwan would say.
I am sure that this woman is telling this annecdote as follows:
"Yesterday I was home when one of those niggerish thug came up to me looking for trouble. Beleive me I stood up to him and showed no fear!" She probably would not mention my politeness and my gentle words.
On the other hand, once again in the metro, I let an old lady sit and she said "thank you very much sir, you are very kind!".
So is it the suit? I still have the same bold head and dark skin! And even if I'm wearing my Olympique de Marseille track suit, I am still the same polite and considerate person.
As my math teacher in high school (Mr Humbert) used to say "Ali rime avec polit."
